Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas - Ait Benhaddou - Dades Valley

After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, you’ll embark on your interesting journey down to the gate to the Great Sahara. Drive across the spectacular High Atlas Mountains crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 Meters) where the view are just stunning offering rare opportunities for excellent shots. En route, you may want to include a short break in a local Argan cooperative where you can learn about the process of extracting Argan oil from the seeds and how countless prodcuts are made of this uniquely Moroccan oil.

Have a guided tour of the UNESCO listed as a World Heritage Site in 1987 village of Ait Benhaddou with its defensive Kasbahs (fortresses). Ait Benhaddou is a striking example of the southern architecture with high walls, four defensive towers and small windows. After lunch, you’ll continue on the track driving through Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa) due to the Atlas Film Studios where numerous Hollywood Celebrities such as Lawrence of Arabia, Kingdom of Heaven, Cleopatra, Prinse of Persia and the list is long. 

Drive to the lush Dades Valley through Skoura and the Valley of Roses, which is known for the annual Festival of Roses that takes place every May. You may want to include a short break to learn about how the rose water is made and similar products alike.

Day 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorge - Erfoud - Merzouga

Today, you’ll head to the Sahara Desert of Erg Chebbi while including a short break in the impressive Todra Gorges (Canyons). The Gorges have been a worldwide attraction for mountain climbers and for the locals seeking some cooler air when the surrounding cities are boiling in summer. You may want to stretch your legs while enjoying the stunning views before continuing on the track to the desert through Erfoud.

Have a camel ride experience atop the sand dunes where you can enjoy the magnificent of the sunset with the possibility to do the sandboarding. Get back to our desert camp where you can have a delicious dinner followed by time of entertainment.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert - Ziz Valley - Midelt - Ifrane - Fez

Early wake up in the morning to attend the majestic view of the sunrise, after breakfast we will head north to the imperial city of Fez. We will include many short breaks for you to chill out, have lunch and take pictures such as in the palm-dotted Ziz Valley, Midelt and in the UNESCO listed forest of the Middle Atlas. This forest hosts a colony of the endangered Barbary Apes. Drive through Ifrane before reaching Fez in the evening.

As always, once we arrive in Fez we will make sure to drop you off in the nearest location to your accommodation; however, if your Riad is in the very heart of the Medina, which is inaccessible by car, we will have you covered as we will arrange with the staff members of the Riad you are staying in to meet up with us in a designated point so that you they can escort you to your accommodation hassle-free…
