Day 3: Desert tour around Merzouga

The third day of our 4 Days trip from Marrakech to Fes is dedicated to exploring the desert surroundings. First and foremost, we will begin our desert adventure by visiting the National Auto Museum. We will see various old 4×4 cars in this location.

Some families have one husband and two wives, while others have more than seven members.

Their head source of income is herding goats and sheep and selling them in neighboring towns like Rissani and Erfoud. The main thing that sets these people apart is their hospitality and generosity. Following a peaceful stay with nomads, we will depart for “Galb El Nas,” one of Merzouga’s best amazing views of the desert. It refers to “people’s heart” in English. Also, we’ll head to Mifiss to explore its kohl mine. Which once produced a million kilograms of mines.

FAQs

We certainly believe that the best way to dive deep in the Moroccan culture is through private tours. You can stop whenever & wherever you like while learning at your own pace. Shared tours tend to cramp travelers & you are controlled to follow a certain planned itinerary.

Unlike the 3 days desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga, this private tour is meant to minimize the time seating in the car while maximizing the time of exploration..

The Desert of Erg Chebbi or Merzouga is one of the main gates to the Great Sahara with the pure golden sand dunes that can pile up to 200 Meters high.

On your next Morocco desert tour, make sure you pack the following

  • Long hiking pants – it enhances your comfort while riding on the camel
  • Long sleeve shirt to keep your skin protected from the scorching heat.
  • Sunglasses
  • Water bottle
  • Scarf or headband
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Camera

If you choose the standard desert camp, yes please, as well as your shower condiments. For the luxury camp, they are supplied in your tent. There is no need to bring them with you.
